Barry D. Baird, 67, of Clearwater Fl, formerly of Ruffsdale passed away on Friday August 11,2017 in Bay Pines VA Hospital, St. Petersburg Fl after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 6,1950 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Glenn W. and Hazel L. (Artis) Baird. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Gary Baird and his wife Sandra. Barry proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 25 years Barbara (Brinker) Baird and his wonderful step children Jayson Miller and Melissa Shearon and her husband Sean whom he loved as his own. He is also surived by his many "brothers" and "sisters" who served by his side in the Vietnam war. He will be missed dearly by his surviving family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. The Jeannette Combined Veterans will hold a service at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.  A funeral service will be held on Friday in the funeral home at 11am . Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Irwin. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to charity of choice.
