Bernice M. Reidmiller, 91, of Penn, beloved mother and grandmother, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.  She was born August 19, 1925, in Penn, a daughter of the late William and Hazel Bollinger Gongaware.   She lived in Penn her entire life and was a member  of Penn Evangelical Lutheran Church.  During WWII she worked as a secretary at Elliott Co. where she worked on part of the Manhattan Project.  She retired from Penn Trafford School District after working for more than 40 years as an elementary school secretary.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul S. Reidmiller, Sr., a daughter, Cynthia I. Reidmiller, and a sister, Betty Gaffney.  She is survived by her son,,  Paul S. Reidmiller, Jr. and his wife Carol, grandson Eric and granddaughter Cari, her son Alan Reidmiller, his wife Ann, grandsons Stephen, Mark, and Benjamin, as well as a sister,  Hazel "Irene" Gongaware Toomey of Youngwood and numerous nieces and nephews.  She will be remembered for her generosity, devotion to family, and her passion for all local sports.  Friends will be received Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette.  A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Roger Steiner officiating.  Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Irwin.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Penn Volunteer Fire Dept., N. Railroad St., Penn, PA 15675.
