John Louis "Lou" Kolbosky 84 of Jeannette died Monday February 26, 2018 at home. He was born August 17, 1933 in Greensburg a son of the late Rudolph and Mary (Petrina) Kolbosky. Prior to retirement he was a Lieutenant with the City of Jeannette Police Department and then went to work for Campus Security at Seton Hill University. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of Ascension Church, Italian Sons and Daughters of America Dante Allegheri Lodge 244, Knights of Columbus #1222 of Jeannette and Fourth Degree Assembly 918 of Latrobe, FOP Lodge 39, American Legion Post 344, Polish Brotherhood of White Eagle and Norwin Elks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Rudolph Kolbosky Jr., Eugene L. Kolbosky and Larry C. Kolbosky, three sisters Martha Bisko, Virginia Koshir and Sharon Shirey. He is survived by his children Alan John Kolbosky and his wife Pearl of Manor and Karen Delach and her husband Mark of Irwin, three grandchildren Tiffany Marie Kolbosky of Manor, Katelyn Nichole Rhodes and her husband Ryan of Greensburg and Richard Alan Earle Kolbosky of Manor, three sisters Anne "Honey" Peksa, Bernadine Blazkowski and Esther Macherma and her husband Louis all of Greensburg, two sisters in law Mary Jean Kolbosky and Charlotte L. Kolbosky all of Greensburg, his long time special friend Micheline Keracher of Greensburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 AM in Ascension Church, Jeannette with Fr. Paul Lisik as celebrant. To send online condolences visit www.mason-gelder.com.
