Karl Otto Goodman 88 of Hempfield Twp. died Saturday January 20, 2018 at his home.  He was born August 6, 1929 in Manor a son of the late Howard and Mary (Otto) Goodman.  Prior to his retirement in 1991 he was employed by the Elliott Company in Jeannette for 36 years and also worked a second job for a brief time at Shrum's Dairy.  He was an Air Force Veteran who served during the Berlin Airlift and Korean Conflict, a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penn State Football and a former member of the Elliott Retirees and American Legion Post 344 of Jeannette.  Karl loved his family and really enjoyed lawn work and being outdoors.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers Paul, Frederick, Harold and Lester (Don), two sisters Genevieve and Dorothy Deuel and shortly after his death his daughter Donna Hill.  Surviving is his wife Mary Ann (Halucka) Goodman, sister Sarah Opaluch of Greensburg, two daughters Nancy (Stephen) Rute of Columbus OH and Debra (Joseph) Hotovchin of Elizabeth, three sons David (Lori) Goodman of Fayetteville, NC, Mark Goodman of Hempfield Twp. and Barry (Wendy) Goodman of Penn Twp, a son in law Joe Hill, seven grandchildren Michael (Jillian) Goodman, Bryan (Kelly) Johnson-Hill, Timothy Hotovchin, Nathan Rute, Stacey (Chris) Kelly, Shanna Rute, Amy Hotovchin, a step grandson Adam Lenox, twin great granddaughters Avery and Harper Kelly and numerous nieces and nephews.  Services are private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of his daughter Donna Hill.  Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc.
