Marlene F. (Bigi) Shumaker of Latrobe went peacefully to see our Lord on Tuesday May 23, 2017 while in the arms of her family.  Although Marlene was born 70 years ago she refused to claim any age over 55.  She was preceded in death by her parents William and Ruth (Ramsey) Bigi, her only sister Nancy A. Christian, a beloved granddaughter Diana Lynn Shumaker and countless friends who were more like family.  Mar is survived by four children Lisa (Jim) Sherin of Greensburg, Michael Shumaker of Latrobe, Theresa (Kevin) Whitefield of Penn and Veronica Michleski of Pittsburgh.  She also loved and raised her granddaughter Christina Shumaker of Greensburg as her own and is survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Marlene was the mistress of her domain.  The kind of woman that was always there when you needed her.  She was the mom you could tell anything to, and the one who would always tell you what she thought, no holding back, no filters.  Her greatest pride in life was all of her grandchildren.  Listening to the random little stories they would share with her.  She enjoyed shopping.  My o my did she like to shop.  Our mother was close to God when she left her earthly shell.  She was a member of the Orchard Christian Fellowship and every Sunday after services she would explain how she could feel the Holy Spirit with her from the second her foot would cross the threshold in the doorway.  She had the most angelic Christians lay hands on her to pray for God's Mercy.  I know without a doubt she was welcomed into the Kingdom of God and will forever Rest In Peace.  Mummy, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you, we feel you by our side.  Friends will be received Thursday May 25 in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N.
