Rita A. McCready, 85, of Jeannette died Tuesday April 11,2017 at Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Twp. She was born June 28,1931 in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Krupar) Shadler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. McCready, Sr., three sons Richard McCready Jr., Joseph Burgman Sr., and Robert Burgman. Two brothers William Shadler and Charles "Moe" Shadler and two sisters Catherine France, Margaret Shaffer, and Helen Lyons. Rita was Catholic by faith and attended weekly masses at manor. She was employed at various places over the years and was a member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Post #344. She is survived by two sons Dennis and Timothy McCready; five daughters Sharon Young (Donald), Georgia Horgos (Robert), Sandra Biedycki (Jay), Geri Gwillim, and Rita Mahinske (Rod) a daughter in law Faith Burgman, 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A blessing service will be held Friday in the Funeral home at 9am with Pastor Patricio Aborde. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
