Ronald A. Smith

Ronald A. Smith, 52, of Jeannette died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his residence.  He was born, August 25, 1965 in Jeannette, a son of Janice Vastell Smith of Jeannette and the late Arthur R. "Sonny" Smith, Jr.  He worked for Evans Delivery and was a 21 year member of the US Army Reserves.  He served a year in Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Ryan Smith of Jeannette, Ryan's mother, Christine Oswald Smith of Jeannette, siblings; Randall "Randy" Smith of Jeannette, Richard "Rick" Smith of Greensburg, Debbie Hazlett and her husband Jim of Jeannette, Crystal Cruz of Hunker, Lori Bold and her fiance Bruce Aland of Greensburg, brother-in-law, Mario Cruz of North Huntingdon, best friend, Robert Ohler of WV and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received Friday from 4:00pm - 8:00 pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette.  A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Free officiating.  Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.  To send on-line condolences, visit www.mason-gelder.com.
