Shirley F. Pifer Kostelansky, 82 of Ford City, formerly of Penn Twp. died Friday, July 22, 2016 in the Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.  She was born February 11, 1934 in Leechburg, a daughter of the late Vincent and Alice Adams George.  Prior to retirement she was a tax receiver for Penn Twp.  She was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Harrison City and attended Bethel Church in Bethel Twp.  She was also a member of Public School Employee Retirement System, PA Assoc of School Retirees, and was a life member of Westmoreland County School Employees Retirement Association.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald C. Pifer and siblings, Vincent George and Marjorie Hooks.  She is survived by her husband Carl Kostelansky, Sr. of Ford City, a daughter, Debora Kostyak and her husband James of Jeannette, step-son, Carl Kostelansky, Jr. and his wife Nancy of North Apollo, three step-daughters, Mary Ann Miller and her husband David of Indiana, PA, Susan Armagost and her husband Thomas of Vandergrift, and Carol Malivuk and her husband James of Shaler Twp., two grandsons, two great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, two brothers, William George and his wife Maria of Chicago, and John George and his wife Connie of Leechburg and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received Tuesday from 3:00 - 7:00 pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday at  10:00 am in the funeral home with           Pastor James Decker officiating.  Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.  To send on-line condolences, visit www.mason-gelder.com.
