Vincent P. Daverso, 72, of Jeannette died Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 20, 1944 in Greensburg, a son of the late Michael and Hermenia Lottick Daverso. He previously worked as a home visitor for Head Start, he worked at Roche Brothers Steel in Braddock, and was currently working at Style Rite. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette, Hempfield #2 Fire Dept., Penn Rod & Gun Club, American Legion Post #344 of Jeannette, the Italian Club and the Ukranian Club. Vince coached Jeannette Midget Football for 31 years. He loved the beach, the Steelers and made the best homemade wine and pizzelles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Metz, three half-siblings, Antoinette D. Mahoney and Mary Cirelli and Michael Daverso, Jr. and his special mother-in-law, Dee Dee Martin. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marlene Martin Daverso, three children, Sherry Rager and her husband Ron of Jeannette, Bob Hegland and his wife Vicki of Jeannette, and Darcy Krapf and her husband Fred of Dayton, OH, 8 grandchildren; Chelsea, Jenn, Tarrah, Channing, Tyler, Chana, Chrysa and Brandon, 9 great-grandchildren; Corey, Jaleena, Lauren, Mason, Nevaeh, Maddison, Madisyn, Chayse and Amico, a sister, Rose Sarnelli and her husband Joe of Jones Mills and nieces and nephews; Michael and Gloria Sarnelli, Lisa and Jerry Voke, and Jeffrey and Kelly Sarnelli, and Robbie and Maureen Metz, and great nephews, Jeff, Robbie and Michael. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 504 Cowan Avenue, Jeannette with Fr. Paul Lisik and Fr. Eric Vogt as celebrants.
