Charles L. Dangelo, 90, of Jeannette, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born May 15, 1933, in Greensburg, a son of the late Angelo J. and Elizabeth (Gumbert) Dangelo. Charles was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the PA Turnpike Commission, and was also a long time employee of General Tire in Jeannette. A lifelong lover of music, Charles possessed a beautiful baritone voice and was also proficient on the trombone and baritone instruments. He was a former member of County Line Chorus and he was also a founding member of the Jeannette Community Band. Charles was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette, and served on the church choir for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Umek) Dangelo, in 2010, and his brother, James Dangelo. He is survived by his son, Charles J. Dangelo (Amy), daughter, Barbara J. (Dangelo) Gray (James), grandchildren Vincent Dangelo, Sara Gray, Maria (Dangelo) Macios (Luke), Jenna Gray (Joseph Semo), and Ian Gray. He is also survived by sisters and brothers in law Patricia and Joseph Erdelsky, and Ronald and Kathleen Drylie and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Mason- Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St Jeannette on Wednesday March 20th from 4-8PM A funeral liturgy will be held at 10am on Thursday in the funeral home with Fr. Job Foote. Interment with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Westmoreland Manor Memory Tree Fund, 2480 S. Grande Blvd., Greensburg, PA 15601.
