Albert “Cotton” Lander, 94, of North Huntingdon, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Redstone Highlands. He was born September 1, 1922 in Penn, a son of the late Emil and Clara Baker Lander. A World War II veteran, Cotton served in the US Army in Guam in the motor pool where he learned the mechanic’s trade. He spent his life doing what he loved best, repairing cars and trucks. He created a successful business, Lander’s Service Inc., and along with his family provided 56 years of dedicated service to every customer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Arina Felluca Lander. He is survived by three sons, Joseph Lander and his wife Sharon, of Mason Ohio, Richard Lander and his wife, Jeanie of Greensburg, and Robert Lander and his wife Tonie, of North Huntingdon; two daughters, Karen Barci and her husband Vincent, of Roanoke, Va., and Sandra Rosenblatt and her husband Robert, of Blacklick Ohio, 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Saturday, March 11 in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc., 201 N 1st Street Jeannette, with Pastor Bob Free officiating. Entombment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
