Beverly M. Cook, 84, of Jeannette, departed this life Sunday, October 21, 2018. He was born April 19, 1934 in Hurt, VA, a son of the late Henry Thomas and Lula Birch Lipford Cook. Prior to retirement, he was a janitor at the Elliott Company and was also the owner/operator of B.M. Cook General Hauling. He loved to garden and cook ribs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary F. Porcha Cook, two sons, Mark and Leonard Cook and two brothers, Theodore and James Cook. He is survived by his children, Valerie Diggs and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh, Gloria Cook of Greensburg, Larry Cook and his wife Kim of Jeannette, Charles Cook and his wife Carlene of Jeannette and Shari Edwards of Pittsburgh, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Alonia Robinson and her husband Eugene of Pittsville, MD, daughter-in-law, Charlene Cook of Greensburg, brother-in-law, Richard Porcha of Jeannette, two sisters-in-law, Virginia Cook of Hurt, VA and Delores Berger of Greensburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Murray officiating. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township.
