Carl “Dutch” Amann formerly of Jeannette died December 23, 2017. He was born February 12, 1940 in Jeannette a son of the late Alfred A. and Henritta (Wilmes) Amann. Dutch graduated from Jeannette High School class of 1958 then earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Gannon University, Erie. He and his wife Kathleen (Abel) Amann were married in 1962 in Jeannette. Dutch worked in the General Accounting Office in Washington D.C. for more than 30 years. He retired in 1992. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Waynesboro, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Dutch enjoyed softball which he coached for more than 25 years in Jeannette and College Park, MD. He was also active with the Catholic Youth Organization and the Jeannette Baseball Association. In addition to his wife he is survived by five children Douglas Amann and his wife Nanette of Millersville, MD, John Amann and his wife Jody of Silver Spring, MD, Matthew Amann and his wife Laura of Rockville, MD, Cheryl Moran and her husband Alan of Laurel MD and Theresa Mutchler and her husband Chris of Smithburg, MD, 11 grandchildren, one sister Barbara Ann Greger of Churchville, MD and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Judy Amann. Friends will be received Saturday April 21in Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N.
