Dr. Richard D. Markland 82 of Lake Panasoffkee FL formerly of Jeannette died Friday February 9, 2018. He was born February 3, 1936 in Jeannette a son of the late Leroy A. and Winifred (Forrester) Markland. Prior to retirements he was an Air Traffic Controller and Doctor of Chiropractic and Associate Professor at Pasco Hernando College. He was also a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Navy and was President of the Enlisted Bomber/Navigator Association and he was a 32 degree Mason and Shriner. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren and their related sports, was a proud classmate of Jeannette High School Class of 1954 and a loyal fan of South Sumter Athletics. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda (Chew) Markland. He is survived by his children Dr. Karrie Markland, Dr. Kraig Markland, Kayna Scheibe and Kyle Markland and his wife Flo, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday February 16 from 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 17 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Entombment with military rites will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
