Eugene (Gene) Patrick

Eugene (Gene) Patrick 96 of Grapeville passed away Monday August 20, 2018 in RNC of Greater Pittsburgh.  He was born December 23, 1921 in Greensburg a son of the late Thomas and Anna (Iuzzoino) Patrick.  Gene was a proud WW II veteran of the Army Air Corps European Theater Operation, serving as a weapon's handler on the B-17 Aircraft.  Where he received the Distinguished Unit Citation, Victory Ribbon and EAME Ribbon.  He retired from the former Jeannette Glass Company.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Elsie (Baker) Patrick on January 23, 2010, two brothers Louis and Jesse Patrick, six other siblings and his dog and best buddy Max.  He is survived by his three loving daughters Nancy Yurt (who shares his birthday December 23) and her husband Jed of Lincoln Heights, Kathy Molchan of Grapeville and Judy Bowman and her husband John who was like a son to him of Jeannette, four granddaughters Jeri (Yurt) Simon (Bill) of Pittsburgh, Hilary Witowich (Bill) of Baden, Valerie DeMichele (Matt) of Hempfield Twp., Jamie Bowman (boyfriend Zach Cooper) of Jeannette, six great granddaughters Olivia and Claire Simon, Kendyll, Carolyne and Kelsey Witowich and Madelyn DeMichele, great grandson Bentley Eugene Cooper and a step-great grandson Tyler Maxson (Katie), a step-great great grandson Zayden, former son in law Ed Molchan of Delmont, his best friend of more than 50 years Rick Tanyer of Jeannette and numerous nieces and nephews.  Gene was a fan of Notre Dame football, the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and enjoyed watching them on TV.  He also enjoyed car shows, casino trips and coin collecting.  He was the best dad and grandpap and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N.
