Gerald L."Jerry"  Dodds, 80, of Hempfield Twp. died Friday, July 7, 2017 in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg.  He was born May 4, 1937, in Penn, a son of the late Howard and Blanche Phillips Dodds.  Gerald survived a stroke 29 years ago and has been grateful for each of those years since.  He previously worked as a lay minister and a  police officer for Penn Boro.  He lived his life for God.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, George, Richard and Howard Dodds and a sister, Alberta Nelson.  He is survived by a sister-in-law, Louise Dodds of Murrysville, nieces and nephews; Phyllis Mrosco (JR), Roy (Margie) Nelson, Susan Nelson (Michael Bock), Peggy (Tom) Patterson, Ed (Deb) Nelson, Jeff (Angie) Dodds and Linda Dodds, many beloved great nieces and nephews, three great-great nieces and his extended family, the staff and residents at Westmoreland Manor.  The family truly appreciated the excellent care at Westmoreland Manor, especially the staff on 2B.  They made Jerry's life enjoyable for the past 2 1/2 years.  Friends will be received Sunday from Noon until time of service at 4:00 pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N.
