Helen F. Lawson, 97, of Jeannette, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017. She was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Monessen, a daughter of the late George and Anna Adams. Helen graduated from Monessen High School, and later worked at Victory Glass in Jeannette. Throughout her life, she enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, solving crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy! and going out to eat with friends and family. Her numerous summer vacations took her to 48 states. Helen was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jeannette Jayhawks. She was a member of St. Marks Church, Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Lawson, in 1972. Helen is survived by her loving son, Douglas W. Lawson and his wife, Joy; her two grandsons, of whom she was extremely proud, Thomas A. Lawson and Benjamin D. Lawson, all of Greensburg; her two brothers, Thomas Adams, of Natrona Heights, and James R. "JR" Adams, of Latrobe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10 in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Interment is private.
