John H. Stitely, 86, of Jeannette died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born March 18, 1931 in Jeannette, a son of the late Harold and Margaret Now Stitely.  Prior to retirement he was self employed at Stitely's Ashland Service, he also had a construction business and did lumbering.  He served in the National Guard, the zoning board for the City of Jeannette and the Hempfield Township Planning Committee.  He loved camping, fishing, hunting and doing various construction projects and riding his motorcycle.  He looked forward to selling tickets for the Ascension Church Italian festival.  He supported many new comers entering the political field.  He had a strong faith in God and believed that everything happened for a reason.  He could talk to any stranger and have a new friend.  Until the day the Lord called him home, he worked every day of his adult life.  He had a smile for his pet Lacey, and his multiple black, white and gray rabbits that would come to him as he pulled his truck into the driveway, waiting for him to give them their kelp, carrots and cheerios.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Raviart and Ruth Barbish Yencho.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sally Bonar Bevilacqua Stitely of Jeannette, daughter Katie Ann Pecarchik and her husband Matthew of Hempfield Twp., son Harold John Stitely of Jeannette, and four sisters; Norma Fait and her husband Thomas of Jeannette, Betty Misner of KY, Barbara Conners of CA and Doris Picciano of Jeannette and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received Thursday and Friday from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette.  A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Fr.
