Mary F. Cook, 82, of Jeannette died Friday, April 27, 2018 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born June 20, 1935 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Richard and Cora Williams Porcha. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Jeannette where she was an honorary member of the Missionaries, Ushers, Choir, Youth Advisor and Sunday School Teacher. She was also a former youth advisor for the Allegheny Union Baptist Association and a member of the JDMH Women's Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Leonard Cook and a sister, Beatrice Howard. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Beverly M. Cook of Jeannette, five children; Valerie Diggs and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh, Gloria Cook of Greensburg, Larry Cook and his wife Kim of Jeannette, Charles Cook and his wife Carlene of Jeannette, and Shari Edwards of Pittsburgh, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, Richard Porcha of Jeannette, sister and brother-in-law, Alonia Robinson and her husband Eugene of Kittsville, MD, sisters-in-law; Charlene Cook of Greensburg, Delores Berger of Greensburg, and Virginia Cook of Hurt, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. 1st St., Jeannette. Additional viewing will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am in the Hopewell Baptist Church, 436 Chestnut Street, Jeannette with Reverend Anthony Murray officiating.
