Richard D. Gongaware, 51 of Jeannette, died Sunday, July 2, 2017.  He was born July 30, 1965 in Jeannette, a son of the late Russell L., Sr. and Janet Cataldo Gongaware.  He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeannette, Altoona Railroad Club and was an Eagle Scout.  He worked as a security police for Leonard Security.  He was a veteran of the National Guard.  He is survived by two sisters, Sherry Orange and her husband John, Sr. and Marsha Gongaware, all of Jeannette, nieces and nephews, Shelly Scolari and her husband Gino, John Orange, Jr. and his wife Marilyn and Russell Gongaware III, great nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Savannah, Charlotte, Russell IV, Aria and Eva and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Friends will be received Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette.  A funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 am in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 211 Gaskill Avenue, Jeannette with Pastor Susan Luttner officiating.  Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township.  To send on-line condolences, visit www.mason-gelder.com.
