Allison Simmers Obituary

Allison D. Simmers went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2022. Allison is preceded in death by her father, Vincent Scott Simmers Sr., and her infant brother, Preston Simmers. Allison is survived by her children; Sabrina Faith Simmers, Matthew Preston Choi, Sehri Hope Choi, and Ahna Grace Choi; her mother, Rosemary (Stemple) Simmers; and her siblings, Vincent Scott Simmers Jr. (Jennifer [Pershing]), Melinda Joyce Houser (Don), Mary Elizabeth Hommel (Christian), Valerie Eiler Martin, and Cherith Marie Wissmann (James), and her dog Charlie. Born June 26th, 1975, Allison lived a faith-led life. She dedicated her life to serving Jesus through leading worship at multiple churches, serving for prison ministry, and above all loving others. As a young mother, Allison raised 4 children, who were her pride and joy. Allison was hard-working and determined to start her career after raising her children. A noble and difficult task to transition to after being a stay-at-home mom for over 20 years. She started as an office coordinator at Mems & Sensors Industry Group. She soon began her work at the University of Pittsburgh working in the Office of Student Affairs. Her success and drive made her family proud, and she further inspired a community of women entering the workforce -- her story was published in a local Pittsburgh newspaper by The Center for Women. She had dreams of creating a nonprofit professional career development center for foster children. Moreover, Allison had a passion for learning and was working towards earning her PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology. As a mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Allison will be missed dearly, and her legacy will live on through all of the lives she touched. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, at Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc., 201 N 1st St, Jeannette, PA 15644. A short service will follow immediately after.
