Andre Duane Woody

Andre Duane Woody, 70, of Las Vegas passed away May 15, 2024 at Summerlin Hospital. He was born on July 14th, 1953 in Orlando, FL, a son of the late Lynne Woody.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by four brothers-in-law Samuel Collins Hainesworth, Jr., John (Jake) Hempfield, Gregory M. Hainesworth and Stephen S. Hainesworth.  Andre graduated from Edgewater High School in 1971 where he was a member of numerous organizations including the high school marching band and track. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College and an MBA from Atlanta University. He was employed by PPG Industries early on but spent most of his working years at IBM Corporation, having had a career in finance and management. He was a member of the Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and spent the last few years enjoying retirement.  He is survived by his wife Veronica (Hainesworth) Woody of Las Vegas, his son Andre Jarrad Woody of New York City, and his daughter Gabrielle Veronika Woody of Las Vegas; his in-laws, Sandra Hempfield, Barbara (Jerry) Sanders, Danny (Janice) Hainesworth and Debbie Hainesworth; aunts Rosemary Thomas and Eula Mack along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Friends will be received in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N.
