Bonnie Lynn Guthrie, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the age of 75. Born and raised in South Bend, Bonnie carried her hometown in her heart throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of Clay High School and went on to earn her degree in Biology from Indiana State University. Though she later made her home in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, she never stopped missing South Bend, the familiarity, the memories, and especially the closeness to Lake Michigan, where she loved to spend time visiting and reflecting. Bonnie found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. She had a deep love for animals, a passion for football, and a natural curiosity that drew her to genealogy, tracing family roots and preserving stories across generations. She also enjoyed antiques, appreciating the history and character behind each piece, much like the way she valued the stories of those she loved. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, John Keith Davis and Alice Marie Davis (Dean), and her brother, Alan Keith Davis. She is survived by her loving children: Rachel (David) Loya of Cranberry Twp., PA, Natalie (Vincent) Maffessanti of Penn, PA, and John Brian (Allison) Guthrie of Monument, CO. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren: Dante, Gavin, Rocco, Landon, Jackson, Bianca, Breck, and Aspen. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Bonnie will be remembered for her steady presence, her resilience, and the deep love she gave so freely to those around her. A memorial service will be held in South Bend, Indiana at Chapel Hill Gardens and Memorial. As it is written in Proverbs 31:28, “Her children arise and call her blessed.” This verse reflects the legacy Bonnie leaves behind, a life of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family.
