Charles M. Hartman Jr., affectionately known as "Chuck" or "Charlie," of Jeannette passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on May 29, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on June 2, 1964, in Huntsville, Alabama, Chuck was the son of the late Charles M. Hartman Sr. and Marilyn J. "Jeannie" Hartman. Though born in Alabama, Jeannette, Pennsylvania became his lifelong home. Chuck is survived by his daughters, Amanda Hartman Siak and her husband Jon "Jack" Siak, and Erica Hartman. He was a proud grandfather to Haley and Lily Labasky. He is also survived by his sisters, Rebecca Miller and her husband Gilbert, and Laurie Leonard and her husband Brian, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved fiancée, Lorraine McCune, whose passing in 2021 left a lasting void in his life. Chuck was known for his strong work ethic, generosity, and willingness to help others. He spent decades working in the automotive and diesel repair industries, most recently with Superior Utility Excavating in Greensburg. Even outside of work, he could often be found in his garage working on vehicles, helping friends and neighbors, or sharing stories with anyone who happened to stop by. He enjoyed camping, gardening, cooking, grilling, Pittsburgh sports, spending time with family and friends, and was a dedicated member of the Sons of the American Legion 344 in Jeannette for more than 18 years. Above all, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and the countless ways he helped those around him. Chuck battled bladder cancer for several years with remarkable strength, rarely complaining and never giving up. Family and friends are invited to Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette Friday for a visitation from 10:00 AM till time of memorial service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Susan Luttner officiating. A luncheon will follow in Jeannette American Legion Post 344. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jeannette American Legion
