Obituary

Charles L. Stewart 88 of Greensburg died Friday April 14, 2023 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.  He was born May 31, 1934 in Jeannette a son of the late Charles E. Stewart and Lillian (Orr) Stewart Comito.  Prior to retirement he was employed by Ingram Books and he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He was a member of the Arlington Sportsman's Club and Gethsemane United Methodist Church both of Jeannette. He enjoyed a good cigar in the summer, family gatherings, painting ceramics at AB Ceramics, and was an avid collector of Hess Trucks and coins.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Timothy Stewart, his ex wife Janet Davis and a sister Janice Wojciechowski.  He is survived by his children Vicki Baker of Jeannette, Charles Stewart of Clarion and Suzanne Sullivan (Tom) of Greensburg, five grandchildren Matthew Stewart (Gretchen), Thomas Slack Jr. (Eric), Michelle Slack, Brandon Howe and Jesse Stewart (Nicole), a great granddaughter Evelyn Stewart, a sister Cheryl Todaro (Carl) of South Carolina, his significant other Josie Mentzer and numerous nieces and nephews.  Services will be private.  Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc.
