Daniel M. Hartung

Daniel M. Hartung of Grapeville died Thursday July 14, 2022 in UPMC Mercy.  He was born December 20, 1953, in Jeannette, PA a son of the late James R. “Bob” Brown and Judith Yvonne (Bird) Brown.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two stepfathers Bob Hartung and Thompson Brown, two stepmothers Ruth Brown and Jackie Brown, his maternal grandmother Ethel Jones, his wife Susan (McLean) Hartung, a brother Robert “Boomer” Brown, and one granddaughter Gabriella McKee.  He is survived by his children Dana McKee and her husband Jason and Kevin Hartung, Bonny Rickard, his companion for the last five years, his forever faithful canine companion Jesse, two brothers Thomas and Timothy Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was employed by Allegheny Power for the last 32 years and retired recently, he also picked up a part-time job at Rite Aid in Jeannette to keep himself busy along with the numerous clubs and classes he enjoyed after his retirement.   Friends will be received Monday, July 18, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette.  Additional visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 10:30 AM till time of service at 11:30 AM in the funeral home with Rev.
