Daniel L. Thomas Jr.

Daniel L. Thomas Jr., 78, of Greensburg, died Friday, August 20, 2021 with his loving wife of fifty six years by his side.  Daniel served in the United States Navy and was retired from The Elliot Company in Jeannette where he worked as the manager of the Quick Action Department.  He was preceded in death by both parents, Daniel L. Thomas Sr. and Virginia Marlow, and two sisters, Jeannie and Rosemary.  Daniel is survived by his wife, Carol Thomas, a daughter Dana Miller (Jayson) of Irwin, a son Michael Thomas (Melissa) of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren Jacob, Cody, Hannah, Michael Jr. and Matthew, and three great-grandchildren. Daniel was a devoted husband and avid camper and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his wife in their RV or boat and traveled to Florida every winter. He was a talented handyman and the phrase “If  Pap Pap can’t fix it, nobody can” was commonly heard.  Friends and family will be received at Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc., 201 North First Street Jeannette Pa. from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 with cremation to follow on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name be made to The American Cancer Society or SOS Animal Rescue, for whom Daniel and Carol would occasionally foster kittens.
