David Vernon Thompson Sr.

David Vernon Thompson Sr. passed away at age 85 on Monday, June 16th, 2025. David was born on January 3rd, 1940 in Johnstown, and grew up in beloved small town of Manor with his parents Edna (McKinney) and Berl Thompson. Prior to retirement, he was a Sales Manager for Howard Hanna and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Cornerstone Ministries, Manor American Legion Post 472 and was a member and proud past President of the Sons of the American Revolution. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved children Todd Jerome Thompson and Tamara Piper, along with his step children Felicia Riley and her children Kate, Michael, and Julia Riley, and step son Frank Robinson, and his lovely sister Elaine Osuna. He is survived by his children Sara Kaufman (Tony) and David Thompson Jr. (Mallory), along with his twelve grandchildren including Christiana Fernandez (Noah), Samantha Laskoski (Peter), Madison, Cassandra, and Jessica Kaufman, Noah (Autumn), Gabriel, Bella, Sophia, Penelope, River and Kai Thompson, in addition to his two great grandchildren Cameron and Jason and numerous nieces and nephews. David’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and will be dearly missed by each and every one of them. Friends and family will be received on Monday June 23rd from 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services to celebrate his extraordinary life will be help Tuesday June 24th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Fr. Jeff Wiley officiating.
