Frederick A. Sehring

Frederick A. Sehring, 77, of New Alexandria died Tuesday March 7,2023 at home. He was born December 23,1945 in Jeannette, a son of the late Walter E. and Lillian A. (Pacella) Sehring. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Nonarato and Angeline Pacella. Frederick held degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, where he began an academic administrative career that would span decades. From there he moved to Administration at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where on September 18,1998 he was named Dean of the Kittanning campus. With his German Shepard registered Therapy dog- Great Ann (Therapy Dogs International)- they would work at rehabs, hospitals, nursing homes and universities logging almost 200 hours of service. In 2004 Fred was named "Volunteer of the Year" for Gateway Rehabilitation in Greensburg, where he personally volunteered for 2 decades. Fred was also an excellent photographer. He traveled the world from Sydney Australia to Jerusalem with his camera. He is survived by his wife Hope (Hutchison) Sehring and all those whose life he touched. Visitation will be held on Friday March 10th from 2-4 and 6-8PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will take place on Monday at Noon in Melrose Cemetery, Bridgeville. EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CEMETERY..
