With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Gaetano Ross Ricci, affectionately known to family and friends as Guy, of Harrison City, who died peacefully on morning of February 5th, just one day shy of his 73rd birthday. Guy was born February 6, 1953 and raised in North Braddock and was the beloved son of the late George and Lucrezia (Piraino) Ricci. He later made his home in Penn Township, where he lived a life rooted in family, dedication, and the things he loved most. Outside of work, one of Guys’s favorite hobbies was DIY home improvement and auto repair. He had a true passion for fixing things and could often be found working on a project, offering advice, or lending a helping hand. He took great pride in passing along his years of experience to his children and grandchildren, patiently teaching them skills they will carry with them for a lifetime. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Guy loved both playing and watching sports. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, and also a loyal LA Lakers fan. One of his most treasured experiences was attending a Lakers game courtside and getting to meet the team after, an unforgettable moment he truly enjoyed. Above all else, Guy was a devoted father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Ricci; his daughter, Heather Simms, and her husband, Jesse Simms; his sons, Steven Ricci and his wife, Stephanie Ricci, and Jason Ricci and his wife, Charlotte Ricci. He was a proud grandfather to Lexi Simms, Wendell Ricci, and Bennett Ricci, with another grandchild on the way, a joy he looked forward to deeply. He is also survived by his sister, Donna George, and her husband, Larry George and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carmela Sabolcik, and is survived by her husband, Donald Sabolcik. Guy will be remembered for his loyalty, his love of sports, his hardworking nature, and most importantly, his deep love for his family. His lessons, stories, and steady guidance will live on through the generations. Friends will be received Friday February 13 from 4-7 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. To send online condolences visit www.mason-gelder.com.
