George Edward Kratochvil 84 formerly of Jeannette died Friday March 13, 2026 in the H.J. Heinz Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Aspinwall. He was born December 6, 1941 in Greensburg a son of the late Paul and Sarah (Copeland) Kratochvil. George retired with the rank of Master Sergeant after proudly serving in the US Air Force for over twenty six years. After retirement, George worked a few different jobs, but one of his favorites was working at Shacklefords and Maxwells Flowers. George's first love was spending time with his family. He also loved woodworking, playing cards, pulling pranks, telling stories and jokes, and helping people. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Brecht) Kratochvil, a brother Joe Kratochvil and two sisters Marie Staigvil and Sue Ann Richardson. He is survived by his children Paul Kratochvil (Jennifer) and Tammy Poirier (Scott), three grandchildren Sarah (Jake), Aidan and Alex (Lindsey), two great grandchildren Remy and Alina, a brother Jim Kratochvil (Jill), a sister Peg Laughery (Charles) and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A funeral liturgy will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with Fr. Job Foote officiating. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
