Gerald Heminger Obituary

Gerald “Jerry” Heminger age 79, a lifelong resident of Jeannette, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Malinoski Heminger; loving father of Joseph (Peggy) Heminger, Marcy (James) Lopes, and Melissa (Dan) Cameron; adoring grandfather of Cara (Dave) Hubsch, Angela Cameron and Jessica Kern; step-grandfather of Andrew (Natalie McAllister) Cameron; great-grandfather of Preston Barnett, Gianna Patricelli, and step great-grandfather of Addison Rae Cameron; son of the late Elmer and Ruth Roberts Heminger; brother of Marlene (Frank) Gounder, Mary (the late Edwin) Linsebigler, Beverly Tyger, and the late Elmer Jr. (Barbara) Heminger; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was a unique character, a people person, and one of a kind. He was always on the go to socialize with friends, family, and everyone he met along the way. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a call firefighter on the Jeannette Fire Dept. for over 20 years, and retired from the Elliott Company in 2004, after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, wood-working, building puzzles, and working on projects within his home and the homes of his children. Jerry was a story teller who could talk for hours about any of the many things he was passionate about and all the things he had done in his life. Above all else, family was most important to Jerry. He loved unconditionally and created a lifetime of memories for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each having a unique and special bond with him. Jerry had a wonderful ability to make others laugh and maintained his sense of humor up to the end. He never took things too seriously, even after his cancer diagnosis, and all he wanted was for those he loved to be happy, safe, and taken care of.  Jerry missed his beloved wife Dorothy who passed away in 2016 and expressed to his family that he takes comfort in knowing that he will be with her again. Arrangements are private and entrusted to Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc., 201 N. 1st St. Jeannette, PA 15644.
