Gilden r. Monstrola, 81, of Jeannette died Wednesday July 26,2023 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born July 27,1941 in Jeannette, a son of the late Henry and Anna (Hirst) Monstrola. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Gloria J. (Kerr) Monstrola, a brother George Monstrola and grandson Charles Hodgkins. Gilden was a proud 1959 Jeannette Jayhawk graduate who went on to serve in the US Navy and then attended PIA to become an airline mechanic for US Airlines. He was a member of Word of Life Church. Surviving are his daughters Dawn Marie Monstrola of Jeannette and Deanna Marie (Roy) Sharp of Tx; grandson Cody Shaneyfelt and great granddaughters Brianna and Sirena. Visitation will be held on what would have been his 82nd birthday, Thursday July 27th from 6-8PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11am in the funeral home with Pastor Elaine Frantz officiating. Entombment will follow in Westmoreland Memorial Park, Greensburg.
