Harry Babiak 92 of Jeannette died Thursday October 3, 2024 in Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born June 11, 1932 in Jeannette a son of the late Mike and Helen (Winnick) Babiak. Prior to retirement he was employed by the Elliott Company and he was a proud veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Navy. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and American Legion Post 344 both of Jeannette, Tin Can Sailors and the USS Benham 796 Alumni Association. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bernadette (Franks) Babiak, a sister Mary Scalzetti and two brothers Mitchell and John Babiak, He is survived by his three daughters Marlene Sweeney (Larry), Diane Heasley (Scott) and Cathy Dengler (Bob), two grandsons Nathan Hutchinson and Adam Hutchinson (Jordan) and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Sacred Heart Church Jeannette with Fr. Job Foote as celebrant. Interment with military rites will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
