James R. Volk

James R. Volk 87 of Jeannette died Wednesday February 15, 2023 in Mt. View Senior Living.  He was born January 4, 1936 in Jeannette a son of the late Ralph and Wilda (Buckley) Volk.  Prior to retirement Jim was employed by West Penn Power and he was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Navy.  James was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Jeannette where he served on the Board and was a Sunday School Teacher.  He was also a member of the F&AM Lodge 750 of Jeannette, Slickville American Legion, Owls Gap Hunting and Fishing Camp and was an avid sports fan.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Anne (Werner) Volk, a daughter Roxanne Gongaware, two brothers Don and Larry Volk and three sisters Ruth Casale, Wilda Bair and Phyllis Roscher.  He is survived by his children Kelly Marcelli and her husband Dennis and Craig Volk and his wife Lori, five grandchildren Sophia Marcelli, Corinn Wolfe and her fiancé Cory Gaston, Amy Remillard and her husband Scott, Katie Volk and Dan Gongaware, two great grandchildren Vincent Gallone and Scarlett Remillard, two sisters Gladys Kurlej and Dorothy Passaro and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N.
