Jean W. Hartzell

Jean W. Hartzell, 89, of  Ft. Pierce, FL, formerly of Jeannette died  February 3, 2021 in Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. She was born January 29,1932 in Fitz Henry PA, a daughter of the late David and Thelma (Lavelle) Wilkie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank N. Hartzell, a son Robert Hartzell and two brothers Russ and Don Wilkie. Jean worked in the cafeteria for the Jeannette School District for 23 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Jeannette; Gold Star Mother of Jeannette American Legion, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Super City Girls Bowling League, avid Steelers fan and she loved the Arcades in Florida. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Hartzell and Frank D. Hartzell both of Jeannette, two daughters, Mary Beth Gumfory and her husband Craig of KS and Susan Correll and her husband Robert of FL, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-granddaughter, a sister, Thelma Garfalo of Westminster, MD and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Monday in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette.  Following CDC guidelines, face masks must be worn, social distancing will be practiced and a limited number of people will be allowed in the building at one time.   A private funeral service and interment will be held Tuesday.  To send on-line condolences, visit www.mason-gelder.com.
