Kathie Marie (Pietropaoki) Tanyer

Kathie Marie (Pietropaoli) Tanyer, 72, of Jeannette died Wednesday June 3, 2026. She was born November 15, 1953 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Ruth (Lavelle) Pietropaoli.  Prior to her retirement at age 53, she worked for 35 years as the Director for the Department of Public Welfare.  Kathie is a Jeannette Legend.  She was a 1971 Jeannette graduate and a Thunderbird majorette. Kathie was a founding board member of the Jeanette Soccer Club, co-creator of the Jeannette High School boys soccer team, an assistant soccer coach for the team, and the most enthusiastic soccer parent and fan.  Kathie was social member of the American Legion Post 344 and the VFW Post 8240, a civil service testing coordinator for the Jeannette Police Department, the administrator of the Jeannette Townhall FB page, a former Jeannette City Council Woman, a member of the Jeannette Beautification Project, a former member of the WCSI Board, a former member of the parent-teacher organization for Jeannette schools, and a supporter of all things Jeannette.  Sheba, Maggie, Cookie, Mia, Bella, and Marilyn are her beloved fur babies.  Kathie, Our Sunshine, will be forever be loved and remembered by her husband Robert Tanyer of Jeannette, daughter Jennifer Nestor & son-in-law Jon Nestor of N. Huntingdon, son Robert Tanyer II of Jeannette, her favorite grandson Dominic, extended family, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.  Her legacy will live on as Kathie was an organ and CORE donor.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7th from Noon - 2PM and 4 PM until time of service at 5:30 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc 201 N.
