Kenneth (Ken) R. Loughner, 83, of Penn Township passed away on February 13, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ken was born November 14, 1939 in Penn Township, PA, son of the late Henry J. Loughner and Chelsea (Klingensmith) Loughner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Clayton) Loughner; his brother, Robert Loughner; sister-in-law Dolores (Baloh) Loughner; brothers-in-law Jay and Ron Clayton, and parents-in-law, Edward and Mildred (Stepnick) Clayton.
Ken was a graduate of Penn Joint High School class of 1957 and the University of Pittsburgh. He operated his own plumbing business for 43 years and also taught plumbing at the Central Westmoreland Career and Technical School where he encouraged numerous students to start their own plumbing businesses upon graduation.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Karri and Scott Rogers of Boswell, PA; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tracy Loughner of Pittsburgh, PA; his four grandchildren, Hailey Rogers (Jeff Zboray); Jake Loughner (Mary Isaac); Brett Loughner; and Madison Rogers Urbano (Jake); as well as his sisters-in-law, Carol Clayton and Patricia Clayton and many special nieces and nephews. Ken served in the U.S. Army in the 429th Engineers Battalion, he was a former fire chief and lifetime member of the Grandview Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeannette. Ken loved his Ford trucks, was an avid Nascar fan enjoying many years of annual trips to Rockingham Raceway, enjoyed visits to the Cook Forest family camp, and landscaping and caring for his lawn. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc., 201 N. First St. Jeannette, where a funeral service will be held at Noon on Friday with Pastor Susan Luttner. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
