Larry J. Volk, Sr., 78, of Jeannette died Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born August 10, 1942 in Jeannette, a son of the late Ralph and Wilda Buckley Volk. Larry was a graduate of Jeannette High School and Waynesburg University. Prior to retirement, he was a beloved teacher in the Jeannette School District for 37 years. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by siblings; Don Volk, Wilda Volk Bair and Ruth Volk Casale. He is survived by three children; Dawn Volk and Christen Volk, both of Jeannette and Larry Volk, Jr. and his wife Natalie of CO, two grandchildren, Gavin Holemeyer and Pearl Volk, siblings; Gladys Kurlej of Murrysville, Phyllis Roscher of North Huntingdon, James Volk of Jeannette, and Dorothy Passaro of Irwin, sister-in-law, Loretta Volk of Irwin, brother-in-law, Don Bair of Hempfield Twp. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Funeral service and entombment will be held 10:00am Tuesday and is for family and extended family only. Larry's family asks that you wear a mask in the funeral home.
