Margaret J. (Parfitt) Oplinger

Margaret J. Oplinger 87 of Jeannette died Thursday June 11, 2026 in Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital.  She was born November 23, 1938 in Latrobe a daughter of the late Noble and Essie (Sphon) Parfitt.  Prior to retirement she was employed by Horne's Department Store in the former Greengate Mall.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Jackson Mihalik and two brothers James and Noble Parfitt.  She was a member of the Women's Card Club, a volunteer at Westmoreland Hospital, was an avid golfer and bowler and loved to travel.  She is survived by her husband of 70 years Gene Oplinger, two children Susie Mihalik (George) and Chris Oplinger and numerous nieces and nephews.  Services and interment in Jeannette Memorial Park were private.  Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. Jeannette, PA entrusted with arrangements.
