Melvin P. Painter

Melvin P. Painter, 84 of Jeannette died Friday January 17,2025 at home. He was born July 11,1940 in Jeannette, a son of the late Elton and Virginia (Denunzio) Painter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers David, Neil and Gary Painter; sister Charmaine Brown and Janet Kintigh and his first wife Judith Painter. Prior to retirement he worked as an inspector at the Elliott Co. Melvin served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Elliott Bowling League. He enjoyed the casinos, was an avid Jayhawk fan and above all loved being a "PapPap" and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Blanche (Homer) Painter of Jeannette; children Ronald Painter (Denise), Robert Painter (Laura), Richard Painter (Jill), Edward Yorty (Eileen) and Brandon Yorty(Tara); eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In accordance with Melvins wishes there will be no visitation. A private memorial service and burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be held at a later date.
