Paul C. Smeltzer

Paul C. Smeltzer 97 of Hempfield Township died Monday September 4, 2023 in New Haven Court.  He was born March 20, 1926 in Hempfield Twp. a son of the late Paul L. and Anna (Croushore) Smeltzer.  Prior to retirement he was employed by Peoples Natural Gas Co. and he was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. Paul was a member of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Madaline (Smith) Smeltzer, seven brothers and sisters and a son in law Michael Biondi.  He is survived by his children Regina Douglass and her husband Donald, Daniel Smeltzer and his wife Janet and Susan Biondi, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette, PA  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Fitch officiating.  Interment with military rites will follow in Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery.  To send online condolences visit www.mason-gelder.com.  The family would like to thank New Haven Court and Bridges Hospice for the care they provided Paul.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Harrold Zion Lutheran Church 671 Baltzer Meyer Pike Greensburg, PA 15601.
