Phyllis J. (Kratovil) Birk

Phyllis Jean (Kratovil) Birk, 84, formerly of Jeannette, passed away on December 10, 2024. Born in 1940 to Edward and Mary Kratovil, Phyllis was the oldest of six children. She graduated from Jeannette Senior High School of 1958 and a graduate of Robert Morris Junior College. A kind and caring soul, Phyllis worked for several years at the Adult Rehabilitation Center & Workshop in Greensburg. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Jeannette. She loved reading, game shows and her family. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and her loving grandson, Paul Lucas. She is survived by her siblings Dianne (Richard) Johnston, Ed (JoAnne) Kratovil, Mary Lou (Fred) Erk, Sherry (Lew) Hay and Terry (Jeanette) Kratovil, her daughter Michele (Sam) Rubin, granddaughter Malka, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Walden’s View and UPMC East for their help and care. Visitation will be held on Friday December 13 from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
