Phyllis Jane (Emerick) DeSanty of Jeannette went to be with the Lord on January 13,2023. She was born April 12,1940. She is survived by her husband of 63 years John R. DeSanty and sister Barbara Manovich, also of Jeannette; three daughters Sheree (Tuttle)Boyland (Don) of Florida, Sona Adamson (David) of Harrison City and Deana Lewandowski (Joseph) of Jeannette; four grandchildren Sean Tuttle (Amanda) of Kentucky, Courtney Tuttle of Florida, Nicolette Burger (Matthew) of Florida and Dylan Adamson of North Carolina; and four great-grandchildren Noah, Mya, Leo and Chloe. Phyllis had many careers throughout her life. She was a beautician by trade and worked at McSorley's, K-Mart, Lakeview Lounge, Greensburg Country Club, West Hills Bowling Alley and the Citizens Club in Jeannette.She loved traveling to Europe with her mom, frequenting the beach and her favorite destinations were Myrtle Beach, Aruba, Hawaii and the Outer Banks.She could be found walking the beach and sitting along the shoreline. Other special trips include cruising the Caribbean with her sister, Deana and Joe. Phyllis always enjoyed being outdoors and would be walking and riding her bike around the neighborhood every chance she got. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Bette and Edward Emerick, brother Edward (Sonny) Emerick and son in law James Tuttle. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Bridges Hospice for their professional and compassionate staff making this a smooth process through it all. We were blessed by the many caregivers (Jodi, Kathy, Melanie, Pam, Carly, Cindy, Trina) who took the time to help provide their love and support to the entire family during this difficult time. Her husband John, or Ray as she called him, promised to live up to his marriage vows, until death do us part, and he was by her side for her final breath. Visitation will be held on Monday January 16th in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette from 3PM-7PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am in Ascension Church, Jeannette. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
