Robert E. "Smokey" Jones

Robert E. "Smokey" Jones 81 of Jeannette died Sunday June 4, 2023 at home.  He was born September 7, 1941 in Greensburg a son of the late Virginia Schultz.  Prior to retirement he was employed by E.L. Wigand Co. and he was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Army.  He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Jeannette American Legion Post 344 of Jeannette.  In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his wife Julia M. (Klingensmith) Jones and two brothers Dean Schultz and Alvin "Butch" Schultz.  He is survived by two daughters Lori Plummer of Jeannette and Gina Fraicola (Frank) of Monroeville, four grandchildren Brad Kush, Katelyn Plummer, Anthony "AJ" Plummer and Aaron Plummer, a brother in law Roy Klingensmith of Jeannette, long time friend Rebecca Rozzano and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8  PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Susan Luttner officiating.  Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  To send online condolences visit www.mason-gelder.com.
