Ruth L. Cook (Lakin) Oshinsky

Ruth L. Cook Oshinsky 89 of Pomona Park FL died Friday February 9, 2024 at home.  She was born February 14, 1934 in Jeannette a daughter of the late Melvin and Claretta (Griffiths) Lakin.  She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Jeannette, FOE #1671 in Irwin, AMVETS Post 8 of McKeesport and American Legion Post 257 Auxiliary of Stoystown.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband George Cook, her second husband Walter Oshinsky, longtime companion Bill Irwin, a grandson George Joseph Cook III, a granddaughter Tiffany Nichole Alcorn, a great grandchild Jordan Cook, a son in law Ross Piraino, two daughters in law Wendy and Patricia Cook, a brother Delbert Earl Lakin and a sister Evelyn Fiori.  Ruth is survived by her children; Vicki Lynn Piraino, George Joseph Cook Jr. (Carol), Michael Earl Cook, Robert Alan Cook (Fiancé Karen), Kathy Joanne Partsch (Terry) and Michelle Renee Cook, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3, great great grandchildren, a sister Phyllis Lakin and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received Monday February 19, 2024 from 3-7 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N.
