Sherene M. Stuchell, 83, of Jeannette died March 20, 2022 in the ICU of Forbes Hospital in Monroeville. She was born June 7, 1938 in Jeannette to Margaret Annabelle (Ewing) Scott and Sheridan R. Scott. After High School, she attended a two-year Secretarial School in Washington, D.C. Prior to retirement, she was first employed at City Hall in Jeannette, and then by the Elliott Company Federal Credit Union for 35 years, 25 of them as Manager. She danced from early childhood through High School, and additionally taught Dance for many of those years. She proudly had appeared on television with her dance troupe, missing her High School prom. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jeannette where she sang in every choir, and where she served as Choir Director for 24 years until retirement. She continued to sing there and also at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Jeannette. A lifelong Presbyterian, she had lately referred to herself as Luthyterian. For 20 years, she had directed the Jeannette Community Choir, bringing together every denomination in our little town. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Russell Scott of Pittsburgh and a sister, Donna J. Kunkle of Delmont. She is survived by her husband Vernon Blair Stuchell, her two daughters Lorene (Lori) Custer and her husband Jeff Greenberger of Long Island, NY and Shushie (Sherri) Custer of Columbus, OH, a granddaughter Mirin K. Greenberger of Portland, ME, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. We would also be remiss not to mention her beloved dog, Bailey. Friends and family will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Jeannette with Rev. Dawn Sherwood officiating. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park.
