Velma M. (Purse) Herman

Velma Marie Herman, 91, formerly of Greensburg, answered the Lord's calling on Monday September 23, 2024 in West Blocton AL.  She was born May 5, 1933 in Greensburg a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Hofer) Purse.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Dale V. Herman Sr., two sons Dale V. Herman Jr. and Roger A. Herman, a brother Donald Purse and a sister Jeanette Purse Castine.  She was a graduate of Jeannette High School class of 1951 where she met and then married her high school sweetheart Dale.  She is survived by her youngest son Brian S. Herman (Kathy Lou), grandchildren Christian Phillips and Alia Herman, great grandchildren Charlie and Elizabeth Phillips and Runa Bush.  Velma was a loving member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, New Stanton Visitation will he held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home, Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10am with Pastor Steve Meyers. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
