Lois Gurnick

Lois Gurnick, 89, of Dunkirk Md, formerly of Jeannette, died Monday January 9, 2012 in Heritage Harbor Nursing Home, Annapolis, Maryland. She was born on April 25, 1922 in Emerson, AK a daughter of the late Orria and Margaret (Pharr) Hines. She was a kind and sweet woman who loved to crochet and talk about recipes and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Gurnick; two brothers, Ralph and Billy Edward Hines; two sisters Marilyn Smith and Helen Tuberville. Lois is survived by a son James Gurnick and his wife Martha of Monument, Co.; a daughter Linda Firment and her husband Tom of Dunkirk, MD; two grandchildren, Keith Gurnick and his wife Yvonne of New Mexico and Rebecca Causey and her husband Jonathan of South Carolina, a great grand daughter Kaitlyn Causey, a brother Lawrence Hines and his wife Peggy of Louisiana ; three sisters: Mavis Baker, Nell Smith both of Arkansas, and Carolyn Woodard of Oklahoma, a sister in law Dorothy Gurnick of Jeannette and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday January 13th from 2-4 and 6-8PM in the John V. Graziano Funeral Home 228 N. 2nd St., Jeannette. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Saturday in Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette with Father John Foriska as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
