John L. Roscher

John L. Roscher, 90, of Jeannette, died comfortably in his sleep Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Manor, a son of the late Ignatius and Elizabeth (Zeckar) Roscher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ignatius Roscher, Marie Worthy, Henry Roscher, Dorothy Miller, Bertha Rowe and William and Joseph Roscher. John served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion No. 344 and VFW No. 8240. He worked at General Tire and Rubber until he went to Bradley Beach, N.J., where he worked in various venues for 34 years. Even though John worked a variety of jobs in his lifetime, his favorite involved customer/ people relationships. He was happiest when he developed a rapport with customers. John will be remembered for parties on his golf cart with friends, bragging about his garden in five-gallon buckets and earth boxes, and his love for TV. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Ingaharro) Roscher, of Jeannette, with whom he would have celebrated 10 wonderful years of marriage next month. Family gatherings were the highlight of his life and he shared them with his surviving brothers, Norman and Alice "Sue" Roscher, of Apollo, and Fred Roscher, of Traverse City, Mich., and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he was very close with. A special heartfelt thank you to his nieces and nephews for visiting him. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC, 201 N. First St., Jeannette. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Father Paul Lisik.
